How does Google access my calendar?

On my mac(10.9.4) System Preference -> security & privacy, no app allowed to access my calendar.

On iPad(7.1.2) Settings -> security & privacy, only Penultimate, Skitch and Evernote are allowed to access my calendar.

It is weird that Gmail can notify me any event I put on my calendar.

I don't like this, How can I block it?

Mac mini (Late 2012), OS X Mavericks (10.9.1)

I didn't put it on Google calendar.

I put it only on Mac calendar.

I notice this because I bought a samsung handset for testing purpose,

now the samsung s-planner also can know my event scheduled on mac calendar.

I know Google calendar can notify me mac calendar too. I am wondering whether s-planner get my mac calendar event via Google.

Anyway to block them to access my mac calendar event?

As far as I know, google doesn't sell your information directly, but it uses your search habits, browsing habits, and any other anonymous metadata it collects to make money. They are in the business of selling placement of search results, ads, etc. The data they compile on their users can be amalgamated into useful information from which they can make money.

Here is Google's Privacy Policy: https://www.google.com/policies/privacy/?hl=en

We collect information to provide better services to all of our users – from figuring out basic stuff like which language you speak, to more complex things like which ads you’ll find most useful or the people who matter most to you online.

Information we get from your use of our services. We may collect information about the services that you use and how you use them, like when you visit a website that uses our advertising services or you view and interact with our ads and content.

They make money by selling placement of ads that "you'll find most useful...or the people who matter most to you online."

So, they not only use your information, but they know who you know and what they like, and they'll sell ads that will also appeal to your friends. And your friends are getting ads that might appeal to you.
