I have a ipod touch 4th generation and i have backed it up onto my brothers laptop about 1 week before i broke the plug for the screen on the motherboard, So now its getting repaired just need to get the parts for it to get it fixed. Since i have backed it up will it also backup my music and photos, im not worried about everything else just i dont want to find all the music all over again

It will have everything that your iPod had on it at the time of the backup, including music (it's not actually part of the backup but will automatically be redownloaded from the iTunes store when you restore).
Note that a do-it-yourself repair will void your warranty with Apple.
The statement "(it's not actually part of the backup but will automatically be redownloaded from the iTunes store when you restore)." only applies if you restore from an iCloud backup. If yo restore from an iPod backup made by iTunes you have to manually redownload the music
