Q: Unable to turn cellular data on for apps

I'm running a 32GB iPhone 5C on 7.1.2 on Verizon.

before the last update I had gone over on my data allotment and then went into the cellular data settings and turned off the cellular data for almost every app I could. Some of these included the music app, podcast app, angry birds, google drive and documents, and just any app that I don't need sucking off my cellular data allotment.

well the 7.1.2 software update changed the settings (I don't know why Apple changes these things when there's no reason to, it's getting frustrating having to learn how to use my phone after each update) and you can no longer go into cellular data and flip the switch for all the apps on one single page. So now I have apps like the Podcasts and Google Apps that I open, am alerted the cellular data is turned off for them but when I click settings (the other option is just a confirmation of the message receipt) it takes me to a section in the settings that is no longer listing all my apps with the cellular data switch.

so my problem is that I've turned off cellular data, updated

software that for no reason neutered my ability to turn it on/off for individual apps, with no way to turn the cellular data back on for those apps. I can't imagine why Apple would do this, unless app developers were complaining to Apple that people were

turning cellular data off to avoid advertisements.

I have reset network settings, scoured the settings menu for options, tried most things suggested for other problems and still nothing. And I'm not going to reset my phone because as soon as I load my backup I'll be in the same boat. Oh I've also tried uninstalling and redownloading the apps as well.

and on a side note whoever put the . Button next to the space bar during certain keypad operations is an a hole because most of the searches I do look like this:

"What is the distance.to.the.moon"

iPhone 5

I Reset my phone and loaded the backup but unfortunately this didn't fix the error either, this was the last thing I could try so I just Gabe to hope iOS 8 reformats everything or else let's me tell Siri to turn cellular data on and off for individual apps. I may try loading my backup into an iPhone 4 and seeing what that does.

I restored my phone using a backup from i-Tunes which sorted the problem.

Okay so here's an update, I've done the following:

Tried using the app on cellular data with wifi turned off in an attempt to populate apps in cellular data

Tried various settings from bluetooth, wifi, airplane mode, and many other settings to cause the apps to populate

    Reset network settings

    Reset All Settings

Reset All Content and Settings and restored via iCloud

Reset All Content and Settings and restored via iTunes

Whatever this bug is it's got me good so hopefully iOS 8 fixes this. Thankfully the only apps that I had turned Cellular Data off for (that I recall aside from some Angry Birds games) are Podcasts and Google Drive/Documents.

I'm having the same issue with iOS 9.....I can't enable cellular data for Apple Music, Spotify, iTunes Store, and a few other apps.....it's very frustrating.  Yes I've done everything listed as help so far.  Has this issue been resolved yet?

    I have this problem too.

In my case, I have a 5S 32GB, I think it started when I've tried to update to 9.3.5. The update gave an error, and then started notice this problem: "Mobile Data Usage - only two apps appear in the screen".

I've then, upgrade to iOS 10: Problem continues

Restored iPhone and restored backup: Problem continues

    Don't know what to do.

    Regards,

    JR
