Unlock IPhone 5s from Virgin Mobile

I purchased an iPhone 5s pay as you go from Carphone warehouse and inserted a Virgin Mobile sim so the phone is now locked to Virgin.

i am trying to switch to Giff Gaff and had asked Virgin to unlock the mobile and the reply i got was as i didnt purchase the phone from them they cannot do it and i had to go to Apple!

I just contacted Apple on live chat and they advised the only way to have it unlocked is through the service provider to which the phone is locked to.

I dont know what to do now as Virgin wont unlock it, oes anyone know how i can get it unlocked?

Only the carrier an iPhone is locked to can unlock it. Apple won’t unlock that iPhone, and unless you’re in Australia or France, Virgin won’t unlock it either. If you are, contact them again.
