Connecting two headphones to Macbook Pro without splitter

Hello,

I would like to know whether there is anyway of connecting two headphone sets to my computer without a headphone (I am aware that they are cheap and relatively easy to come by, but this would be easier). My laptop has an audio IN and an audio OUT jack - the idea would be to change the audio IN to an audio OUT. I know this is possible on Windows, so I figured it might be possible on a Mac as well. Is there an app or system tweak that will allow this?

[OSX 10.6.8 running on a 2010 Macbook Pro 15"; 2.4 GHz Intel Core i5; 8 GB RAM; Intel 160 GB SSD]

you can connect both headphones, then open "Audio MIDI Setup" in Application - utilities, click + and select: Create Multi output device, Select both headphones, you can click on the name: Multi output device and rename it.

now in menu bar click on the speaker icon and select your new output device..

Not possible. Just get yourself an inexpensive splitter cable. Easy. Cheap. Works.
