Q: My Mac tries to import pictures that are not there

Everytime I open iphoto, my mac tells me I have un-imported pictures. The file is empty and creates a file every time. How do I get  rid of this?

iMac, OS X Mavericks (10.9.4)

Quit iPhoto if it's running. Force quit if necessary.

    Back up all data.

Select the active iPhoto Library in the Finder. By default, it's in the Pictures subfolder of your home folder, but you may have put it elsewhere. Right-click or control-click the icon, then select

              Show Package Contents

    from the contextual menu.

In the Finder window, you may now see a folder named "Import". Open that folder and move its contents to the Desktop. Do the same with the folder named "Auto Import", if it's present. Make no other changes.

Close the window. Launch iPhoto and test.
