Q: delete songs on phone but keep on cloud

I just subscribed to iTunes Match, for the purposes of putting all my music out there on the cloud and to be able to delete the songs off of my phone to be able to free up some space.  If I delete the songs from my phone will the music still be in the cloud where I have access to it at any time?

iPhone 4, iOS 7.1.2

    Hi tunein4now,

If you would like to delete songs locally from your iPhone while leaving them available in iCloud, you may find the Deleting songs downloaded to your device section of the following article helpful:

Deleting songs downloaded to your device

You can delete a song or album from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch at any time. Don't worry; it'll still be in the cloud.

    1. Tap the Music app.
    2. Tap More > Songs at the bottom.
    3. Scroll or search for the song you would like to delete from your device.
    4. Swipe right to left on the song, and then tap Delete.iOS - Delete an iTunes Match Song

Note: You must be in Artists, Songs, or Albums view to delete songs from your device. Deleting from a playlist won't remove a song from your iOS device.
