Hi I have installed snow leopard and running imac with 2gd ram and intel duo 2.1ghz but wont install mavericks can anyone help please?

No, you can't get Lion if you don't have Snow Leopard because the AppStore App is in Snow Leopard.

Check to make sure your applications are compatible. PowerPC applications are no longer supported after 10.6.
