How do you combine all the music by one artist into one?

See Grouping tracks into albums for general background. You need to make sure that the name is spelt consistently wherever it is used (with no leading or trailing blanks), and that the sort fields are either blank, or set equally consistently.

For the Arty tracks use the Songs view. Click the small magnifying glass in the search box and make sure Search entire library is not ticked. Type in Arty in the search box.
Select all of the tracks where you consider Arty to be the Artist (not the collaborations) and enter/retype Arty as the Artist.
Delete any content in the Sort Artist field.
Select all of the tracks where you consider Arty to be the Album Artist (this can include the collaborations, but doesn't have to) and enter/retype Arty as the Album Artist.
Delete any content in the Sort Album Artist field.
If you want the collaborations to appear under Arty change the song Name to <Name> [Feat. <Guest>] and then change the Artist to Arty.
Repeat with other duplicated artists as needed.
