Q: does it make sense to upgrade to motion 5 & compressor 4

would like maximize capabilities of fcp 7. does it make sense or are there any benefits to upgrading to motion 5 and compressor 4? any issues or drawbacks? thanks.

    silly me. should have done more research. apparently these only work w 10.9.2 or later. my bad for not keeping up and living in the past ...

    When and if you decide to run 10.9… Compressor 4.1 adds some faster encoding via hardware acceleration in a couple of settings, supports some additional HD and UHD formats, improved H.264 MP4 CABAC, and a few other things. The Motion 5 keyer is a big improvement; it offers rigging, and again, support for more formats, I think that's about it.
