Why does it say in icloud graph that it is encrypted when it was the news that's it's not!

Why does it say in Apple's graph that icloud phots, email and everything in encrypted when it was on the news tonight that it's not. iCloud: iCloud security and privacy overview On the news they were saying that the icloud isn't encrypted and isn't safe. Yet on Apple's graph it says all icloud photos etc are encrypted? Why are they lying?

That article mentions nothing about encryption.

Of course, this does not help you if somebody guesses your password. Which is why you should turn on 2-factor authentication.
