what are best rechargeable batteries for magic mouse

I go through two AA batteries every five weeks and don't like the idea of throwing the old ones into a recycle bin.

Does anyone have suggestions about using rechargeable batteries?

The Apple rechargeable batteries work fine. Most reviews are positive. The negative reviews seem to focus on two issues:

1) The computer does not show 100% for fully charged batteries. That's normal. Rechargeable use different chemistry, and the voltage at full charge is less than that of non-rechargeables, and the computer has no way of knowing what type battery is in use.. They still work for weeks, and the computer gives the low charge warning at the correct time.

2) The charger's orange light flashes. That means the battery is not making good contact with the charger. Cleaning the contact or battery, or just wiggling the battery will fix this, and it usually won't happen again. It's a lot better that the charger lets you know of the problem rather than just not charging it.

The negative replies on this item would make me give it a wide berth.

A few years ago I had rechargeable batteries, and my experience (not Apple product) mirrored those here.

At least with my AA batteries, I get about five weeks. The only reason I'd change to rechargeable ones would be to save our landfills. I do recycle them but never know if they are actually recycled.

For what it is worth at this late stage, I find Duracell recharge Ultra 2400 the longest lasting in terms of holding their recharges. I have eight Apple batteries, none of them have been recharged more than a couple of dozen times ... and from 100% they reduce to needing a further charge within 6 - 7 days. Not good enough. Duracell takes some 22 - 25 days to reduce to the same level.
