Is there slower service in Japan? On Okinawa, playing a movie results in "Ready to play in [5-12 hours]" I have a 20 Mbps connection and its totally unacceptable to wait like that.

As a U.S. Marine stationed on Okinawa, Japan, I try to watch apple TV in my quarters. For HD movies, I nearly always receive the following message after selecting "play:"

"Ready to play in [5-12] hours and ___ minutes" Its crazy how long I have to wait! That waiting time estimate is not far off from reality either. Its is very slow to play, usually I have to decide what I may want to watch the following day, and select it so it can load it up. I certainly can't change my mind after that (unless I want to waint another 5-12 hours).

This is completely unacceptable considering that I have a 20 Mbps connection purchased through Mediatti Broadband on Okinawa, and it should only take 8 Mbps to instantly stream an HD movie. Does Apple have a different streaming priority or speed for Japanese IP addresses? I have my settings such that I use the U.S. iTunes Store. It also doesn't matter if I change my location in the settings. Any insight would be appreciated.
