Q: bluetooth keyboard malfunction no ' or backspace or arrows

Since The installation of Maverick the bluetooth keyboard has been playing up, with the ' key, backspace or and arrows keys not working. Why is this has anyone had the same?

MacBook Pro (15-inch Mid 2009), OS X Mavericks (10.9.2)
