My ipod Classic just stopped working one day. It displays a large red circle with a red X inside. Under that symbol it simply says www.apple.com/support/ipod. I have done this and can find no help about what this symbol means.

Restore iPod from Disk Mode
- Disconnect iPod from your computer.
- Manually put iPod into Disk Mode.
- Open the latest version of iTunes and connect iPod.
- Restore iPod.
Setup Service for iPod

Right then. You pay over $200 for these 160gb contraptions and they work for a little over a year? After that expect to pay more for service. I purchased a Zen mp3 player 10 years ago for $40. It's still working.
