Safari suddenly switched to old Google Classic interface

i'm using Mac OS X 10.5.8

Safari is Version 5.0.6 (5533.22.3).

Before it always used to show the latest Google interface with the doodles and stuff. what happened? i don't recall downgrading Safari or anything like that.

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.5.8), Safari Version 5.0.6 (5533.22.3)

Nothing's wrong. Google occasionally reverts the graphics to the original.

Google is deliberately sending the earlier version of their page to old browsers in an attempt to 'encourage' users to update - something you can't do, of course, without upgrading your entire system.
