Does your power button work? I would try the soft reset followed by putting it in DFU mode, the only problem with that is that all your information on the phone will be erased and set back to factory.

    Plug the device into iTunes

You're going to need to hold down the power button and home button at the same time for 10 seconds or so, then when the phone turns off keep your finger on the home button until your computer recognizes it as a drive. When it does that, iTunes should bring up the device and as you if you want it to restore the device. Click yes and allow it to do so. The only problem I can see you running into would be error 1669 which I believe is a firmware problem. There are a few fixes for that you just have to search around the forum.

Other than that, if you have a fault power button, you can just plug it into a charger and hold the home button and that should turn the device on.
