My Iphone 5 wont turn on, so the battery/screen/charger/LEDpanel have been replaced and still it wont turn on. HELP?

My iPhone 5 randomly turned off, so I thought it needed charging. It still didn't turn on which then lead to me replacing the charger. After this didn't work I got the screen, LED panel and battery replaced. The phone still wont turn on😠

So now after paying for all this, it makes me feel like the iPhone was just a waste of money, if anyone has experienced anything similar.. PLEASE HELP?

And exactly what you had said, Apple won't help you. And you if bought cheap after market parts that won't really help you much either. It seems like with some after market hardware parts really don't work well with iPhones. Especially screens, i've ran into multiple issues with some parts we've received and occasionally the iPhone won't take it. He also could have put the charging port in wrong, maybe he didn't put in the flex cables correctly, maybe the power flex cable isn't put in correctly which would disable your side buttons as well as your power button. It could be a number of things. Has the phone been water damaged or dropped a few times? Also your original charge port could have just been filled with lint or you may have just needed a new battery.

Well I mean depending on how old the device is you could also need a new battery. Which your friend who did the original repairs could most likely handle that. Its an easy fix, but I would make him double check his work on that one if he replaced all of that and it's now having the same issue and more problems that it has originally. I would have him try a new battery for sure though just to make sure, but besides that a good way to check to see if the port is working is plugging it into your computer and seeing if it is recognized as a drive. And I know you don't want to lose any information but doing a hard reset may help as well. Doing a hard reset with put it into recovery mode which your computer will recognize fairly quick. Warning: This will delete everything on your phone so do it at your own consent.

All you have to do is hold down the power and home buttons at the same time, after about 10 seconds take your finger that is on the power button and take it off all while holding the other finger on the home button for another ten seconds or so. Do not lift your finger from the home button until it is recognized by the computer. If this doesn't work then most likely the charging port is bad.

Obviously i would not know about your mate, likely he us doing his best.

Apple might not sell parts, try getting bits for a Sinclair C5. but many still run around including two of mine.

many genuine repair guys buy old even, faulty, broken even brand new phones just for bits, many sold on auction sites, the seller likely putting the funds back into a new or working second hand unit.

guys, its a bit off knocking them without knowing the individual first and at least thinking first.

Your handset suddenly stopped, don't mean the whole brand or model range is rubbish, kack happens when you have high volume items with millions of transistors inside, just take one. It might have got, condensation - even in your pocket unless you don't sweat (look at the detectors), dropped hard causing a fracture, dropping soft finished it off and now its failed. All conjecture so best shot is wait for the appointment, get advice and have it checked out.

At least Apple have these help centres.

By no means was I knocking him, I think you're reading it the wrong way. The only thing I was trying to get across is that there is a difference between someone who actually does this for a living versus someone doing it as a hobby and not being able to practice as often as the other person would. He just may not have as much experience which can lead to mistakes. I am by no means perfect and I do have some problems with phones but after a ton of practice I can do almost every iPad/iPhone repair.

And the other thing I think you are referring to is probably "Checking his work" which I just meant that he should look over it just to be sure everything is seated properly and in the right spots.

And where I do agree with you is that taking it to an Apple Store would be best. The only problem I can see arising is that the phone has already been opened which right away voids any sort of warranty and I don't think Apple with do it without having to pay a good amount of money. But I think its safe to assume whoever worked on it may have missed something, it happens to everyone who works on phones.

Peace, Not intending any beating in you Ben 🙂.

I repair many types of items successfully, not working direct to Apple i might not know all the foibles but i am darn good at using a logical approach or sheer guessing 😉.

says he used someone who came highly recommended by those who's opinion he respects, hindsight is near always 20/20 vision.

Not sure if it was out of warranty already? if not then taking it to a service centre might have yielded a better result, or asking others in here first at least.
