I did this and I see the Service in any app > Service;

I created another Service and it does not show up the way this one does.

I created the Service by creating a Run Applescript template.  I see it on Finder right next to the Instant Snapshot service, but I can't get it to show up.

Any help?

MacBook Air, Mac OS X (10.7.3)

    There are three criteria for an Automator Service to correctly function:

    1. The workflow cannot have coding, logic, or runtime errors. This should be debugged in AppleScript Editor.
    2. The service is enabled in System Preferences > Keyboard > Shortcuts > Services
    3. Something must be selected, before your service will appear in the Services sub-menu.
      1. A file object in Finder
      2. A string of text in a document
      3. A selected video or music track in iTunes
      4. Etc.

    Thank you for the help.  I really appreciate the speed you responded.

    I still struggled with it until I saw this:

    When I did what it says in 3. below, that made it appear in services.  I don't know if that corresponds to your points but thanks.

    An oversight on this end ... that should solve it.
