I-tunes has encountered a problem and has stopped working?

I have tried to do a repair of I-Tunes but I am advised the I-tunes64.msi file cannot be located. I am reluctant to simply uninstall I-Tunes and do a fresh install in case I lose any of my settings.

I do have an I-Cloud account and subscribe to I-Tunes match so I suppose I should be OK but am I risking losing all my Playlists etc.

Welcome to Apple Support Communities.


It sounds like you're running into an issue repairing or installing iTunes. You don't have to worry about losing your playlists or content in iTunes because that is saved in the iTunes Media folder, so go ahead and try to reinstall iTunes as shown in the article below.
