Best operating system for mid 2009 Macbook Pro 13"

Currently running Leopard. Is it worth the cost of upgrading to Snow Leopard, Mountain Lion, etc. If so what system would you recommend.

Thanks

Kevin

The most efficient Apple OSX to date is Snow Leopard and I certainly would recommend that you purchase the disk and install it:

Upgrade the OSX to 10.6.8 (the disk is 10.6.3).

This will allow you to install Lion and higher BUT be aware that PPC applications, among others, will not work on these newer OSX's. Before committing, I would recommend partitioning the HDD and install Lion or higher on one partition and keep Snow Leopard on the other. That way you may compare the two or keep both and have the best of both worlds.

In addition, should you opt for Lion or higher, I do recommend that you install 8 GB RAM in your MBP. The newer OSX's will run much better with the additional RAM.

Ciao.
