Sep 20, 2014 10:05 AM in response to mariofromfranklinby bulldog222,Test out your iMessage guys. Mine randomly started working today. Didn't do any troubleshooting or anything. Just opened up my laptop and saw chat history from my iPhone from last night. Sent out a test iMessage from my laptop and it worked.

Sep 20, 2014 2:09 PM in response to sga0006by Ralph Johns (UK),Humm,
There is something odd going on here.
Apple have this Doc FaceTime, Game Center, Messages: Troubleshooting sign in issues which suggests 4 error Messages linked to similar issues.
There is a 5th error message that actually gives you a code number and tell you to contact Apple Support (and that turns out to be something about the way your Mac version is linked to the Account and the support staff have to change something)
Now we have a "message" that indicates everyone one else has left the iMessages server - but is probably more related to your version not being fully logged in.
However all the tricks that would normally work to reset this are not working.
This makes it seem very close to the 5th error message.
As the 5th Error Messages only effects the ID with respect to iMessages it might be worth contacting Support and asking them to check if there is an issue with the Account.

Sep 20, 2014 2:35 PM in response to Ralph Johns (UK)by sga0006,Thanks for your help, but support won't talk to me since I downloaded Yosemite Beta. I called them about it when it first started happening, and they just referred me to the Yosemite Feedback Assistant (which has been down for about a week...) because they're not qualified to help me.

Sep 20, 2014 3:52 PM in response to Ralph Johns (UK)by bulldog222,No restart. Just woke it up from sleep mode.
SGA0006 just go back to Mavericks. There's no point of being on Yosemite if it doesn't fix your problem. Unless you're actually interested in being a beta tester.

Sep 20, 2014 9:04 PM in response to mariofromfranklinby Freedlun,I have been fighting this problem since the 9th of Sept as well! What's going on? I did also download Yosemite Beta, but on a partition, and I only had it running for about an hour and then went back to Mavericks. It has to be Yosemite screwing this up! Is there any response from the Beta team yet?
I have tried all of the logging out and in again on all the devices, but to no avail.
Come on Apple, do us proud and fix this. ;-)

Sep 20, 2014 9:20 PM in response to Freedlunby aude1128,It seems like it's not the Beta. Some of us, like me, don't have it. Some of us downloaded it in an attempt to fix it. And some had it for longer.

Sep 20, 2014 9:33 PM in response to aude1128by Freedlun, huh, interesting. But does seem to be tied in some way to Sept. 9th, right? That's got to be something.
I'll keep tinkering, but hopefully someone on this thread will get the fix. ;-)

Sep 21, 2014 11:29 AM in response to sga0006by Ralph Johns (UK),Hi,
I would also add that problems should be fixed before Updating/Upgrading as it is rare that doing so fixes the problem unless it is stated specifically in the blurb about the update.
