MacBook Pro Retina 2013 Wifi Problem

My mbp retina is having wifi issues. It says there is no ip address and has an exclamation mark over the wifi signal symbol. I know it is not my router because everything else is working fine. I have tried adding a new location, clearing out system config, restarting the SMC and many other things. This problem occurred a while ago but it came and go. However right now, I cannot connect to the wifi but sometimes I will be able to randomly connect. If I were to sleep or restart the laptop, the wifi will not connect and its back to square one.

Hi... Under Wi-Fi preferences remove/delete/forgot your current Wi-Fi network and then create new network as if it was the first time you're setting this up for Wi-Fi. This might help your problem, also you mentioned only your router, you may want to try to restart your modem as well. Good luck with this!

I have tried removing the current Wi-Fi network and it does help. However after a while, the connection will be lost again. Ive also tried restarting the modem too. I am usually a room away from the router and modem so its fairly close. Thanks for your help guys!
