iPod 7th Gen shows up on Windows but not in iTunes

I have Windows 8.1 version on my laptop. But When I plug my iPod Nano 7th Gen. It shows up on windows but doesn't on iTunes with an error message. I tried all the iPod troubleshooting still doesn't work. Please help! OH! And I can't seem to download iTunes on my computer. 😟
