Q: Should I worry about upgrading to Mavericks?

WE have a Mac mini running. snow Leopard. We have Logic Express 8 and all the jam packs as well as some other samples we've picked up over the years. I am considering upgrading to Mavericks and am a little worried. Should I just bite the bullet?  I have a complete TM backup and other external backups. I'm just always paranoid of breaking something. The problem is there is a new game my son wants but it doesn't work on Snow leopard. Plus I think I'm way overdue, considering a new OSX is just around the corner. Can someone talk me off the ledge? my biggest fear is that all the jam packs require Roseta to install. But I'm thinking an upgrade should just keep the samples and loops I already have installed.
