upgrade darwin to mevericks, Window XP is unable to run after that

Hi all,

Recently I have upgrade my MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2010) from the older OS (Darwin) to the latest OS (Mavericks), but the problem is, my other partition BootCamp which runs on Window XP, is unable to run now after the upgrade. May I know what happened to it? and what to do to make XP run in the new Mavericks OS.

Another question, can i revert back to my old OS if I were to use my XP?

You can revert if you have a backup you can restore from. What OS is Darwin?

You may need to run a newer version of Bootcamp with Mavericks. Try using Boot Camp Assistant to update the system.

It’s the Open Source Unix portion of OS X. I think it derives from NextStep. Every version of OS X has Darwin in it.

I didn't backup my old version of OS. But it is okay.

I have a question. From the link (Bootcamp) you gave me, those "DVD" stated in those column, may I know what does it mean?

compatible external optical drive is required if you are using an install disc

It appears that is required if you are installing Windows from a DVD.

Boot Camp under Mavericks does not support XP, only 7 and later. Try running XP in a virtual machine.

It is a program that runs under the OS, but can run Windows (among others). You are able to run to two operating systems at once.

Virtual Machine for 10.7/10.8
