287 MP4 movies in iTunes - only 78 show up in the shared Movie playlist

I just added a new movie that I ripped from a recently purchased DVD to my iTunes library and it won't show up on "Shared Movies" via iTunes running on other computers on our home network.

I'm guessing a number of us are going to be seeing the same thing.

Absolutly - same thing here... maybe someone needs to do a bugreport...

I am unable to view my movies/tv shows on a shared iTunes instance. Does anyone have a work around for this?

I am experiencing the same thing. Some movies are shared, others are not. There is no pattern that I can detect. File permissions are all identical, they are in equivalent locations (sub folders in Movies folder), same format, etc. Weird.

I have the same problem with music!

I added 1700 songs from my other computer (pc) to this itunes library (mac) and I tried it also on a different machine's itunes library (pc) and none of them show up at all. I tried putting them on an external drive and still none of them show up. I have my itunes set to copy and organize.

I will try adding them within itunes instead of dragging the folder over.

what's going on with this? i recently moved my movie folder to a different drive, and now they do not show up on other machines browsing the share, although all the movie playlists show up.

found the solution to my issue. it turns out that this great software i'm running from Nullsoft called Connect360 had disabled sharing for all the files it doesn't support. Connect360 allows XBox360 owners to stream their pics and music to the 360, allowing wireless viewing of photos on your HD TV. it works great, but apparently there is this little hiccup.

I'm having the same problem... the original solution the Xbox360 thing doesn't apply to me... has anyone found the general solution for this?
