external monitor black screen

Hi everybody, i have a macbook pro retina late 2013 and a crt monitor proview ps-920f. When i try to connect the monitor to the pc with a hdmi-vga cable. The mac detects the monitor it shows only a black screen. I tried with a windows pc and the monitor works. What can i do?
