Students cannot access smart instruments after upgrade.

My students just got their iPads as the new school year started. (We are a 1:1 school)


Garageband was updated over the summer.


They have told me all the smart instruments are grayed out and inaccessible except for the drums.


Is there a way to get all the smart instrument so back? I have not tried anything on their iPads to remedy so I don't know if there is a simple answer but need for them to access for a project This next week.

When clicking the grayed out instruments there should be a dialog offering to buy additional content. Very faint, at the bottom of this panel is an option "Already purchased". Clicking this link should restore the missing instruments and loops, see this support document:
