I have an old iBook G4 that powers on, but then the screen just flashes on and off in grey then goes completely black. I would like to pull all the documents, pictures, and other files off the hard drive but I have no idea if this is even an option. Is there any way to do this? I currently also have a macbook, macbook pro and an iMac if that helps at all.

I don't know the iBook G4... Has it got FireWire? If yes, 400 or 800?
It does have a firewire port. I believe it is a 400.
Was it connected to the network you are currently using? You may see it in your sidebar.
Or, you could try a monitor.
Connect it to another Mac with a FireWire cable and start it up with the T key held down.

Neither of my other computers has a firewire port. Can I just use a firewire to usb adapter?
You will need a firewire to thunderbolt if no firewire port on any machine.

But don't forget the other idea: if you have a video-out-port, you could still use your Computer with an external screen!
Ethernet to Ethernet will work, too.
This should be available to you on at least one of your other Macs.
