Q: Free memory on MB Pro
Hi.
After aquiring Trainz 2 or Mc which needs 4 Gbytes + 1 of RAM (VRAM in my case as I have only integrated Iris Pro grphic card) I got into a strange matter.
When I start up my MacBook Pro Mid 2013 retina Display with 8 Gbytes of RAM I have 4,2 Gbytes of free RAM (fresh install, no other apps or utilities or driver installed (Maverick 10.9.4). I the n asked info to a couple of friends with a similarly configured Mac Book 13,3" with "simple "Iris " GC. One has the standard i5 processor ant the other has the i7 proc but both have 8 Gbytes RAM like me. At fresh Maverick 10.9.4 install startup they have 5,8 free RAM memory.
Where is the caveat? Why my MacBook Pro loads so much OS into the RAM if compared to the Mac Books? I don't believe is a matter of 0,5 GB of VRAM/RAM used more by my MB Pro.
Any suggestion?
Thanks
Simon
