Q: Keyboard does not work "smoothly"

My keyboard does not work properly. I have to press hard on the arrows top to bottom etc. to get it moving. It moves "haltingly". Weird. I have no idea what causes it. I changed batteries. To no avail. Anyone?

iMac (21.5-inch Mid 2011), iOS 6.1.2

You may also want to try ruling out potential sources of interference that may affect the Bluetooth connection:
