2007 macbook pro screen flicker

My computer is a little old, I bought it back in 2007.

I recently restored my computer, so it is in it's original state, but I just started having this problem:

The screen flickers and there are pixels everywhere, then it freezes. (see photos)

I was thinking about buying a new computer at the end of the year. I really don't want to invest in an old computer, so I was wondering if there is something I can do to get it going for a little longer.
