Port mapping for accesing TimeCapsule disk with BTMM "Back to My Mac" using iCloud service.

Hi guys,

I'm trying to configure a 5th Generation 2TB TimeCapsule for remote file sharing using iCloud "Back to My Mac" Service.

My ISP left an Alcatel optical router that's not UPnP compatible, I already mapped all iCloud service ports on this document:

Well known TCP and UDP ports used by Apple software products

I had even using a DMZ assigned to the TimeCapsule local IP address, and doesn't work either.

Do you have the TC setup in bridge.. if so BTMM and iCloud seems not to work.

If you have the TC setup to route, BTMM will not work because port forwarding cannot handle double NAT.

I find it hard to believe any router supplied in the last 5years doesn't support upnp. What is the model number please??

Do you have double NAT?? If so give up on using BTMM and either replace the Alcatel box with the TC if that is possible.. there usually is no need for a specific router for fibre connections.. you simply plug the Airport into the main ethernet connection.

If there is no way around it, use another remote access method.

There are three listed by Tesserax.

AirPort Disk - Remote Access (3 Methods)

There are a few others as well.. but require different equipment.
