Ripped CD in iTunes library will not sync to iPod

I have ripped a number of purchased CDs into my iTunes library. I don't have a problem viewing or playing these albums in iTunes. However, the problem is that these albums won't sync to my iPod. I don't know how to fix this problem? Someone mentioned to me that it may be an authorisation issue. My pc is authorised because I have purchased music from the iTunes store and sync this to my iPod without an issue so I don't understand why the ripped CDs won't do the same. How do I get these albums onto my iPod? Please help me because this problem is driving me crazy! Thank you. (I am using a HP pc with Windows 8 and an iPod Touch 5th gen).

Thank you for your reply. The only songs that will sync to my iPod have been purchased from the iTunes store. I tend to purchase songs from iTunes using my iPod which I then transfer to my iTunes library on my pc. Once a CD is in the drive, iTunes automatically opens a window which asks if I want to import the CD, I simply select "yes" (should I be doing something else?) Sorry I don't understand your last question. Are you able to expand on your question? The CDs I am trying to rip are all genuine purchased pre-recorded CDs (they aren't burned copies from someone else's library).

Kind Regards

Hello IIIaass

Sorry for the delay in replying. I deleted all the imported albums to try again - but no such luck! One of the songs I have copied is Wuthering Heights (4:58) by Kate Bush. The summary is as follows:

Kind: AAC audio file

Size: 9.2MB

Bit rate: 256 kbps (VBR)

Sample rate: 44.100 kHz

Date modified: 14/09/2014 14:29

Plays: 0

Last played: not available

Profile: Low complexity

Channels: Stereo

Encode with: iTunes 11.4

When I re-imported this CD I did so manually in order to check the settings which are: Import using: AAC encoder Setting: iTunes plus.

I hope this helps.

Kind Regards

Hello lllaass,

I have now spotted an additional problem. In the iPod Summary in iTunes under Options the "manually manage music and videos" option is ticked. When I change it to "sync only ticked songs and videos" and press Apply it reverts back to the "manually manage music and videos" option again. How do I get it to accept the change?

Your help is greatly appreciated with these ongoing iPod/iTunes problems!

Kind Regards

Turn off Manually Manage.

Manually Manage means just that - you do all the work of moving songs onto the iPod. Sync means to synchronise (to make the same). They are two different methods of managing your iPod. You cannot use both at the same time.

Therefore, if you wish to Sync - use Sync. Otherwise, you will need to drag the new CD ripped albums onto your iPod yourself.
