You may want to make sure that your device is still associated with your Apple ID:
iTunes Store: Associating a device or computer to your Apple ID

You may want to also sign out of your Apple ID in the settings of your Apple TV, then sign back in to make sure that you are connected with your Apple ID. Take care, and thanks for visiting the Apple Support Communities.

Sep 12, 2014 9:53 AM in response to taraannieby Jim Gallanis,I spoke with a Tech Support guy at 1-800-MYAPPL this morning (9/12/14) who was utterly oblivious to the problem. he essentially said, "Wait until the next iTunes release and maybe it will work then." That's encouraging.
