Q: message access protocol on iphone 5c

I own a 2013 Dodge Charger with the Uconnect system, and an iPhone 5c. The phone connects to the Uconnect system flawlessly, but Uconnect does not support the text messaging feature because of the lack of Message Access Protocol on the iPhone. Is there a workaround so that I can take advantage of this hands-free feature on the Uconnect system? The people at Uconnect have been, unfortunately, less than helpful. If there is a workaround, would someone please tell me? Thank you!

If you check this support document, iOS: Supported Bluetooth profiles the iPhone does support MAP, depending on what version of the iPhone that you own. The 5C does support it, but it could be an issue with Uconnect. I have seem many complaints about support when it comes to Uconnect in Dodge and Jeep vehicles. You may need to work with them to see about that support.

Thank you very much! I will definitely check that out. I sent an email to Uconnect tech support earlier today, so I will be interested to learn their response. Their website is, to put it charitably, less than helpful. I hope communicating directly with someone in tech support will be more fruitful.

Good luck with that. I would also recommend searching the forum here, maybe using the keywords Uconnect, and you may find a number of other posts, and may find something that helps. As I said earlier, I remember reading many other threads, but since I do not use that, it doesn't stick with me, but I do remember a great deal of the issues lead back to problems with Uconnect.
