Q: thinking of binning macbook after os x mavericks install

i installed os x mavericks a while back and it has basically turned my macbook into a ball of s**t !

every link i click on results in another unrelated window of advertising drivel which has to be deleted first before my desired link comes up.

i photo keeps "importing photos " even though i am not and i have to do a "force quit" to escape iPhoto .

if i go to youtube the page jumps as if the system wants you to click on the wrong option in the options list.

it looks to me like installing mavericks was a way of opening my system up to more advertising ploys.

seriously thinking of kicking the macbook to touch and going elsewhere.

has anyone got any relatively simple suggestions which doesn't involve synching,iCloud or that other apple abomination,iTunes  ??
