My U2 album is not showing up!

Is there some kind of delay?

It was grayed out and says purchased when you click on the album and track listing. I might not have been clear. If you click on the music tab, then on the rights side where it says "Music Quick Links" there will be several options. One of them is "purchased", when you click on that the album will show up with the dl symbol on the far right side of the individual track. click that and it will add to your itunes. That worked for me, not sure if people are still having problems with this method, just wanted to make myself clear.

I wonder why Apple did not just list the album on the store for "Free" as the price and then people can download it when and if they want it. That way you would not have to look for it, but you would know when it lands on your device because you purchased it (for free) like any other music you purchase.

I also wonder how Apple will control the expiration date of the free promo. If it is put into your iCloud account as purchased no matter what, then I would think all 500M users get it. Will only users who register on iTunes after the expiration not get it?

I think Apple goofed this up a bit.

Agreed, Karl R., they should have offered the album for free, then let customers download it if they wish. Judging from other threads, some customers are a bit miffed that a U2 album landed on their devices. Everyone has different tastes, and U2 may not be everyone's cup of tea.

As for the expiration date, I think the free promo goes through October for iTunes customers. After that, you must pay for it.

I think Lots of people are looking at this all wrong. The idea is that U2 aren't giving the album away for free. It's that Apple bought the album for everyone as a gift. That's why it shows up as "purchased" and shows in iTunes Match. People who are complaining that Apple forced the album into their library are mistaken and they probably don't understand how iTunes Match works. It's just available in the cloud for download.

Either download it, or don't. If it bothers you to see it available, you can hide it.

First world problems.
