How do I remove the free U2 album from my iTunes library?

So we all have a free U2 album in our iTunes library now. I don't like U2 and don't want it. I get an option to 'hide' it in iTunes, but not to delete it. How can I remove it entirely from my library in iCloud? I have just been to iCloud.com, but can't see anything there.

True I've only had every iPhone since the 2G but its probably me the user. I tried your suggestion and it won't let me download it because I'm not authorize. Probably because I hid it in iTunes. I'll uhide it tomorrow and try that because those 2 songs are still showing. Getting late for me so hopefully that works

Erase your phone, do not restore it, that will take care of gifts that are not good enough for you

How many times do I have to say I have show all music set to "Off" and I did completely hide the album in iTunes. If some other people on here were not so ignorant and just answer a simple question maybe this thread wouldn't be 10 pages long. I have done this since my first or second post and your all coming back with follow the steps or ask a child answers.

How many times do you have to try before you realise that you don't know how to use your iPhone.

Erase the phone, take it to Apple, leave it in a public place.

Any of these would be better than what you are doing now, better for us as well.

It's time you took lessons on how to operate your iPhone, ignorance may be bliss but it still affects U2

I Asked that from the beginning and people like Pete said ask a child or read back a few for instruction. So yes I asked this about 4 pages ago

You never mentioned that you are a beta tester using beta software, as well as insulting us you wasted everyones time with your mendacious posts.

Selfish little person aren't you.

IF you could read properly I did mention it, I'd expect more out of a level 8 but then again we know how smart the level 5's are

As I don't believe that you are telling the truth you will have to post a link to it, otherwise my opinion of you must remain the same.

Post a link to the post you mentioned it in, or remain just a trolling noise.

Hi all,

I'm the OP. Could we please try to keep things civil rather than trolling each other? Responding to other comments, my feeling is that calls for a class-action lawsuit are a bit over the top. Yes, I don't like the addition of unrequested content to our accounts without an option to opt out or to delete it. It's one of the reasons I started this thread. But as others have mentioned this is a volunteer community, and I think the best way to get Apple to change things is to contact them and give feedback directly, since the problem is out of the capabilities of anyone here to solve; this link is one means to give feedback (that I was directed to by an Apple Support rep when asking how to best do so): http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunesapp.html

To others with this problem, the status is:

1. The album can be 'hidden' from our playlists using steps as shown by turingtest2 and others in this thread.

2. However, you cannot fully delete it from your account (it always remains 'in the cloud').

3. Apple Support either cannot or will not fully delete it from your account (based on email and phone conversations I and others have had).

So the summary is that the album cannot be fully deleted from your account (only 'hidden' - not the same as full deletion - from playlists and devices).
