Q: How do I remove the free U2 album from my iTunes library?

So we all have a free U2 album in our iTunes library now. I don't like U2 and don't want it. I get an option to 'hide' it in iTunes, but not to delete it. How can I remove it entirely from my library in iCloud? I have just been to iCloud.com, but can't see anything there.

After talking with some Apple support reps via email and on the phone, it appears that the album cannot be deleted fully from our accounts. The best that can be done is to hide it (turingtest2 has indicated how).

Apple support haven't been able to delete it fully from my account themselves (although understood my feelings at having content pushed to my account without request/permission), so I have asked to be referred up the chain (as presumably someone at Apple will be able to completely delete it). I will post if this happens.

The Apple Support rep also suggested we could post feedback about this via the form at this link: http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunesapp.html

There are a lot of messages in this thread which (to me at least) come across as angry/baiting each other; please can we keep it civil, I think that's likely to be most helpful.

I had just one stuck too! I got on Apple chat and the only way is to remove all your music and resync the music you want to keep.

Go to Settings > General > Usage > Then find the Music App under Storage and click it. At top hit Edit and Delete to the left of All Music

This will remove it from your phone and ALL OTHER SYNCED MUSIC

Totally worth it for me to resync just the music I want on my phone!

    Hope this helps!

This happened to me too. It is frustrating. I have contacted IT people several times, but they coups not help me solve the problem. Not sure what I can do.

    Nonsense

Why are you advising such a radical method of dealing with this, I advise spending a little time finding out how the Music app works.

And It was not necessary to post nonsense twice, once would have been more than enough.

I'd like to know how to get rid of this junk from my account. There is no swipe and delete you select it and it starts playing. I didn't ask for this garbage so I want it gone

Swipe and delete the copy you downloaded, hide the free offer from your download list as has ben explained in this and similar threads endlessly.

I had the same problem and the only way was to remove ALL music and then resync the music I wanted to keep. I had just 1 song that wouldn't delete and just played when you tried to swipe left!

Go to Settings > General > Usage > Then find the Music App under Storage and click it. At top hit Edit and Delete to the left of All Music

This will remove it from your phone and ALL OTHER SYNCED MUSIC, leaving you with no music and having to resync your music you want

Yes well, that's the hard way, deleting the ones you don't want and hiding them from the list is the easy way.

no I did not get an email stating why if I knew why do you think I would ask. I'm simply stating that I have no option to delete the song. is that violating any terms of service?
