Is Iphone 6 water resistant or proof?
Is the Iphone 6 water resistant or proof? I can't find any information about this at the website and I am curious to know either way.

Actually it is water resistant as specified in the Apple spec sheets. This info was posted earlier but the great St. Clair up there can't handle replies that provide real information as opposed to unhelpful links so those messages get yanked. If this one gets pulled too then that speaks a lot for this "community." The iPhone has already included a realistic level of water resistance for electronic devices as it is consistently used in environments that contain moisture whether from the environment around us or our bodies. The iPhone 4 & 5 can endure significant amounts of rain, sweat, etc and it's likely to improve in the iPhone 6. It's certainly not water proof as in can it survive a plunge in the ocean after sliding off my surfboard or a trip through the washing machine. Pretty unlikely the iPhone will ever be completely "water proof". Quite a few 3rd party case manufacturers that wouldn't be real thrilled about that either. ;-) Sure would be nice if people in this community were willing to be a little more helpful than "if it isn't in the web site marketing info then it can't exist."
Well, then you are only repeating what is being discussed rather than providing information based on specifications that you have actually seen. Here are the specifications for the iPhone 6 provided by Apple. I see something about humidity in the Environmental Requirements, but do not see anything specifically referring to "water resistance". So, no - it is not specified by the Apple Spec Sheets. Best not to attack people who are providing actual links to the place where the real Apple specs are, because you read something different on the internet....

Maybe you can provide a link to the Spec Sheets where this information is housed. No reason to be so snarky. I looked at the specs, and I can't find anything that states that the device is "water resistant". Can you please point us to where this is stated?

Please provide back up to your statement.. What makes you think that the "water resistant" factor will improve with the 6? Do you have some special insight other than warrantless speculation?
The spec sheets for the iPhone 6 are discussed on sites such as cult of mac and tabtec. They can be easily googled, but it's not something available for download as of yet. I would imagine the spec sheets would go for general release on the 19th if not before. Everything on the spec sheets they have proved to be 100% correct at the release today so no reason why the water resistance wouldn't be the same. Please keep in mind "water resistance" is what is being described here not "water proof". Water resistance has already existed on the iPhone to a certain point as discussed in my previous post.
"The watch is water resistant, allowing users to not worry about the device when in the rain, or washing hands. However, the watch must be taken off before going for a swim or taking a shower."

Keep in mind, the iWatch has a microphone that may not be resistant to moisture.

Do you have reason to believe that this applies to the iPhone 6 which the OP asked about?
There is at least one international standard that covers appropriate specification verbiage, resistance level definitions, and test methodologies. The fact that it is neither mentioned on the specification sheets, nor discussed online, clearly indicates that it does not apply. There is at least one third-party vendor who offers an after-market process that, presumably, provides substantial protection from water, however, it will void the iPhone warranty.
Do any of you think if you splash a bit of water on the phone or it gets a little rain on it that the phone wont work as the previous models did? Not that i would recommend it but i know i have and the phones work perfectly fine. This one is no different in that regard. Cheers!
I was hoping that enhanced water resistance would be a feature but I guess not. I have the life proof cover on my 5 and that is fine, but I think it will be too bulky to have that on the already large 6 plus.
Since no one here has even seen, let alone used an iPhone 6, there is no way to answer. The effects of "a little water" depend on your definition of "little" and where it makes contact with the phone.
Why would you expect any change from the previous iPhone models over the last 7 years, when no change was announced?
Thank you for your feedback.
Even though it hasn't been officially announced that the iPhone 6 is water resistant it appears (based on tear down at iFixit) that it is... somewhat.

It is amazing, Apple still does not have the engineering talent to make the iPhone waterproof.
It's amazing, the trolls out here. What makes you thing they don't? They just don't choose to do so. But you knew that before posting a vacuous message on a thread that is over a year old, didn't you?
One imagines it would have been mentioned at the Keynote if they were. It was not. Ergo...
The specs we have so far are here:
