Will the T-Mobile iPhone 6 be unlocked?

I know in previous years the iPhones on launch day from T-Mobile were unlocked. I'm on AT&T and want to buy the iPhone 6 unlocked and outright. I'd like to know if the T-Mobile iPhone 6 is in fact unlocked again this year, so I can use it on AT&T.

Apple will sell you an unlocked phone at full retail price. What service providers do is offer the device at lower cost if you sign a contract. That device is locked to their service. Otherwise, you pay full price for the phone in order to get contract free service. But this is all from T-Mobile, not from Apple, and hence, not from us. We can't answer the question fully.

WOW this is the most absurd statement .. iPhones in Brazil used to start from 2799 Reais and this is US$ 1221.01 on today's exchange rate, with the announcement of the iPhone 6 the 5s dropped to 2199 Reais (16gb) or US$959.31… and ON A CONTRACT it is not the same as in US where the phone is locked.. here ALL phones are unlocked by law…. granted it is one of the most expensive country to buy an iPhone… a big difference for 2k thru 3k US$ and.. also it does not sell like hot cakes… the majority of iPhones in the country comes from abroad.

Maybe if brazilians would spend more time obligating the government to lower tax and do their job (a.k.a voting to better candidates) instead of spending time doing nothing and denigrating Brazil's image, it would be a better country to live in.

Hello Rodrigo, meu xará.

I feel your pation for Brazil, you may be also right on your statements, last year Oi offered me a transfer from VIVO, an iPhone5S 64Gb for R$ 5.000,00, and that was with their incentive to make me change carrier. I never asked the price for the lower spec models. But I am talking about my experience. And I do not think that in any way my message was degrading at any level.

Since you felt bad about it. I apologize.

Best regards!
