I Am planning to buy an iPhone 6+ for both myself and my husband. We are taking a trip on release day and could get one from the local Apple store that day. Can you reserve one online so that you are
STupid thing cut off the rest of my mssg. I'd like to pre order with store pickup. That's my question. Do they allow that or is it only first come first served in the store? I want to make sure I get one.
I am not opposed to standing in line for one...but not sure how probable it is that you would actually get one. Because at that point, if you don't get one there, the preorder online is going to be out for a month. In that case you would have been better waiting the extra couple days for delivery instead of now waiting 3-4 weeks.
Hedge your order.
Take a portable device to the line. Wait in line. As soon as the ordering opens on the web, order one. If you manage to get one in line, then you can immediately cancel the online order .
Problem is pre order starts a week before, so by launch day they will already be swamped with orders. And if I place an order on the preorder day, it may already be shipped (and not able to cancel) by time I get one in my hands at the store.
Yvette24, that I do not know. I'm guessing they will hold on to it for at least a month but given the demand that may not be the case. The best way to know is to call the Apple store you've chosen for in-store pickup and ask them.
Anything is possible, but they are not taking orders. To find out more you need to visit the online Apple Store page to find out for yourself.
We don't know what they will do. Look for any announcements on Apple's website. That's what we all do.
During the event they said the phones won't begin shipping until the 19th so unless they are going to use same day delivery for your order it probably won't work.
You will find out when they start taking pre-orders on the website or when the iphone goes on sale. If not, do what all that want an iPhone on launch day: stand in line at an Apple store.
