Q: I'm again having very slow action on my iMac, OSX 10.9.4.  Where do I find the Activity Monitor?

running OSX 10.9.4 on my iMac.  Previously when troubleshooting this we looked at the Activity Monitor.  Now I can't find this.  Can someone tell me where it is ?

It would help us to help you if we could have some more technical info about your iMac.

If you like, please go ahead and download, install and run Etrecheck.

Etrecheck was developed as a simple Mac diagnostic report tool by a regular Apple Support forum user and technical support contributor named Etresoft. Etrecheck is a small, unobstrusive app that compiles a static snapshot of your entire Mac hardware system and installed software.

This is a free app that has been honestly created to provided help in diagnosing issues with Macs running the new OS X 10.9 Mavericks.

It is not malware and can be safely downloaded and installed onto your Mac.

Copy/paste and post its report here in another reply thread so that we have a complete profile of your Mac's hardware and installed software so we can all help with your Mac performance issues.

    Thank You.

    Hello dnall244,

You can check out on /Applications/Utilities

you can also search on Spotlight.

You said that your Mac have very slow action. You should try:

    1. start OS X in Recovery Mode (by press and hold command + R)

    2. open Disk Utility

    3. select Macinsoth HD

    4. select First Aid tab

    5. verify and repair disk then verify and repair permissions

You also can try to erase and install the OS X to improve the performance.

    Hope that it could help.

Launch the Activity Monitor application in any of the following ways:

☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)

☞ In the Finder, select Go Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.

☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Activity Monitor in the icon grid.

By using Spotlight (Command + spacebar or the magnifying glass icon near right end of menu bar) you don't need to remember and it is usually faster to launch that way even if you do remember.
