My IMac5.1 is on OS x 10.5.8. I want to sync it with my MacBook Air on OS X 10.9.4. POssible? How?

I'm not sure what you are referring to when you say "sync", or if your iMac is connected to the same local network.

If both Macs are on the same local network then you can either enable Apple's built in File Sharing on one of them or use something like Dropbox on both of them. They support back to 10.4 (https://www.dropbox.com/help/3).


If your iMac is no longer networked, then the simple way to exchange files is to just use a USB flash drive.
