Can't log in to mac mini because some of the keys on my wireless keyboard aren't working.

Some of the keys on my wireless keyboard have stopped working. I have found a link to trouble shoot this One or more keys on the keyboard do not respond, however, I can't type the password in to carry out the trouble shooting advice.

Is it possible to override the password using my mouse?

I also have a mac book pro, would an option be to somehow plug my mac book pro in to my mac mini and use the mac book pro keyboard to log in?
