iPhone 5s 7.1.2 touch id and vibrate

I have a new iPhone 5s with the touch id sensor which works just find. I thought the touch id when used would vibrate upon putting ones finger on the sensor to unlock the device. I an talking the daily use of the sensor after having setup the initial fingerprint. This does not seem to be the case, although I can find no information one way or other.
