Question

how to get back 3-column layout in mail

My 3-column mail layout which included display of the "current" message (highlighted in the list) disappeared. The text of the "current" message is no longer displayed.

Mac Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.5)

Move the cursor to the line separating sidebar and the body and drag to the right.

If Classic layout is selected, deselect it.

Mail > Preferences > Viewing

Uncheck the box beside "Use classic layout".

Move the mouse cursor to the far right edge of the window.

Drag the rightmost edge of the viewing pane inward, then right edge of the middle column.
