Q: how can I recover password for encrypting I- Phone Backup?

I created a password to backup passwords that were saved on my I- phone and don't remember the password. How can i recover and change the password?

iPhone 4S, iOS 7.1.2

Hey Trav8456,

Thanks for the question. It sounds like you have an encrypted backup, but do not remember the password. The following resource provides some helpful tips on what the password may be, as well as information on potentially recovering your password from your Keychain in OS X (does not apply to Windows/PC):
